In his infinite wisdom, he's taken everyone she's ever loved. Moving to the French Quarter was a ploy to erase the guilt she felt for rebuking her faith. Perhaps, if she hadn't met Justin, an angel preoccupied with getting back into God's good graces, and drowning in his hatred for humanity, her plan would have worked. Justin's general disdain for the human race makes him difficult to like, but some higher power has appointed him her keeper. Teaser Tuesday (August 30, 2011)

Image
Now that Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene has gone and power is on, it is time to get back to blogging. We hope everyone who was affected is doing well.  Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B at ShouldBeReading  where you randomly take two lines from your current read (spoiler-free please) and highlight them in a post. This week we have three and you'll see they all have one recurring theme: vampires. With the girls finishing up reading for their class requirements, I'm putting up what I've begun, am halfway through with, and have almost finished. Our first tease is from Vampire Empire, Book Two: The Rift Walker by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith. This is the one book I did a happy dance for when I received it in the mail.  "Adele tried desperately to keep to the shade, but they had to dart across open streets where the sun beat down mercilessly. While she moved as quickly as she could, Gareth actually slowed as if he was wading through someth...

Six years ago, Brian McClelland was murdered, and his brother was convicted of shooting him. When Megan bullies Alex into reviewing the case, Alex discovers that her Captain was the chief investigator who overlooked evidence that might have proved the brother's innocence. Against the Captain's orders and Alex's better judgment, she unofficially re-opens the case and finds herself following a twisted investigative trail left by the murder victim. The problem is, she has no idea wh...

Format: Kindle Edition File Size: 415 KB Publisher: Red Hot Publishing (August 13, 2011) Blurb: Jude Magdalyn Henries lives what many would call an unconventional life. Orphaned at birth, raised by nuns, a teenage runaway living on the streets… she now earns a living at odd jobs, including one as a fake tarot card reader. Very little about Jude’s life appears normal, by any scale. When she accepts a gig to do a private reading, unconventional takes on an entirely new meaning. Life as she knows it ends when she’s thrust into a world she never knew existed—one filled with magic, vampires, and her beloved New Orleans on the verge of an underground war. To make matters worse, she's got two men in her life vying for attention, Williams and Theo. Both call to a different part of her, but one scares her just a little bit. Can she step up to the challenges set before her and make the right choices for the greater, which may or not be the greater good? My review:  "I may have...
