Vampire Challenge 2011

Image
We have joined  PARAJUNKEE'S VIEW VAMPIRE CHALLENGE 2011 . This challenge runs from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011. All we need to do is read 20 books where a vampire is the main character. Since we love vampire stories this should be easy and we like that books can be YA or adult and published in any year. This challenge will also help us catch up on some of the bloodsucking titles we have piled on our bookcase shelves we haven't gotten around to reading (yet). Titles TBA.

Next spring her foray into the YA market, After Midnight: The Youngbloods, Book 1 , will be published by Flux Books (336 pages). At first Jesse seems as unreceptive as the rest of Lost Lake, until Cat discovers he's just as lonely and friendless as she is. Troubling warnings to avoid the wealthy, reclusive Ravens worry Cat, as do more problems at school, but not enough to stop meeting Jesse. Lost Lake i...

It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't. Our review:   Delirium is a dystopian tale of a world intent on keeping everyone the same. This USA of the future has even outlawed love. Love has become a dreaded and feared four letter word. The government reasons  each citizen can be controlled easily when they can't feel. Love is the emotion that causes men to go to war, to quarrel, to become troublesome.  In this country when someone turns eighteen they receive a procedure to cure them of the   illness —the 'delirium' love creates. There are handbooks, prayers, and songs all provided t...
