Another great week of great reads.  For review we received Picture the Dead by Adele Griffin.  We received from some terrific online swappers:  The Line by  Teri Hall,  The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey,  And Falling, Fly by Skyler White, The Long Way Home by Andrew Klavan,  Descent into Dust by Jacqueline Lepore,  Firefly Rain by Richard Dansky,  Ballads of Suburbia by Stephanie Kuehnert, The Keeper's Tattoo by Gill Arbuthnott (pictured below) and  Oblivion Road by Alex McAulay. Meghan won a copy of Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins and a sweet tee shirt to go along with the book. Thanks to Young Adults Books Central for hosting the contest and Disney Hyperion Books for the book and shirt! While we were at the Millbrook Book Festival yesterday (which we already blogged about), we perused the Millbrook Library's Used Book shelves and found some gems. We picked up these titles--all in great condition, most looked new--for a steal.  We lugged home: Evening by Susan Mino

On Saturday we drove up to the lovely village of Millbrook to attend their third Annual Book Festival. The weather was gorgeous and the library where most of the events took place was wonderful.  We sat through quite a few discussions and listened to some great authors read-- Eileen Charbonneau treated us to a fascinating Native American tale, K.L. Going read an excerpt from "The Liberation of Gabriel King" and Jennifer Donnelly  (she wrote the award-winning " A Northern Light " and the upcoming fall title " Revolution", both Ya titles ) and Aimee Friedman  (" Sea Change ," " The Year My Sister Got Lucky " and others) also read from their novels.  The last discussion of the day consisted of nine YA novelists speaking about how they got into writing.  Folk singer and  writer Dar Williams  ("the " Amalee " series) was there, as were the four aforementioned authors we heard recite earlier, as well as Alisa Kwitney
