Teaser Tuesday (August 30, 2011)
Now that Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene has gone and power is on, it is time to get back to blogging. We hope everyone who was affected is doing well.
Blurb: Princess Adele struggles with a life of marriage and obligation as her Equatorian Empire and their American Republic allies stand on the brink of war against the vampire clans of the north. However, the alliance's horrific strategy for total victory drives Adele to abandon her duty and embark on a desperate quest to keep her nation from staining its hands with genocide. Reunited with her great love, the mysterious adventurer known to the world as the Greyfriar, Adele is pursued by her own people as well as her vengeful husband, senator Clark. With the human alliance in disarrray, Prince Cesare, lord of the British vampire clan, seizes the initiative and strikes at the very heart of Equatoria.
As Adele labors to bring order to her world, she learns more about the strange powers she exhibited in the north. Her teacher, Mamoru, leads a secret cabal of geomancers who believe Adele is the one who can touch the vast power of the Earth that surges through ley lines and wells up at the rifts where the lines meet. These energies are the key to defeating the enemy of mankind, and if Princess Adele could ever bring this power under her command, she could be death to vampires. But such a victory will also cost the life of Adele's beloved Greyfriar.
Blurb: When a group of vampires rises from the dark of the humid Miami summer and murders her partner, officer Cara Evens gathers a group of allies with their own unique abilities to avenge her partner's death and save the city. To succeed she'll have to accept her own changing abilities, ignore her lust for a vampire and hide the one thing her enemies need to kill them all.
Blurb: When Savannah tattoo artists Riley Poe is ambushed by an undead enemy, she inherits some of the traits of her attackers-and a telepathic link with a rampaging vampire. Now, she's experiencing murder after murder through the victims' eyes. And her new powers will not be enough to stop the horror-or the unending slaughter...
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B at ShouldBeReading where you randomly take two lines from your current read (spoiler-free please) and highlight them in a post. This week we have three and you'll see they all have one recurring theme: vampires. With the girls finishing up reading for their class requirements, I'm putting up what I've begun, am halfway through with, and have almost finished.
Our first tease is from Vampire Empire, Book Two: The Rift Walker by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith. This is the one book I did a happy dance for when I received it in the mail.
"Adele tried desperately to keep to the shade, but they had to dart across open streets where the sun beat down mercilessly. While she moved as quickly as she could, Gareth actually slowed as if he was wading through something physical rather than just warm air. She ran back and grabbed his arm, hurrying to the other side of the oven-baked pavement."

Our second tease is from Blood Drive by Traci Houston. This is a debut novel and if you like fast paced urban fantasy you might want to check this one out when it's published.
"No!" Mason's scream held a mixture of anger, disbelief, terror, and ultimate anguish, all blending to stop Thomas' heart mid beat. He flew to the landing, the door stood open."

Our third tease is from Everdark (Dark Ink Chronicles Book 2) by Elle Jasper. Riley is back and I'm enjoying every moment of this book.
"I pulled back and sought Victorian's eyes.
"You will come with me, Riley. Now," he said, his voice alluring, pulling at my mind, into some unfamiliar zone. "Hurry."

Now that you know my week is filled with fanged otherworldly creatures, what are you reading?
Love the teasers. Glad you are up and running again.
