As feelings change and love starts to develop, they must dig through the secrets and lies to find the truth…a truth neither of them will ever see coming.

Wish For Me is a cool, sexy read and a sweet surprise. A. Star combines steampunk machinery and clever inventions together with a clever djinn, a snark-mouthed college student, set in a contemporary setting and throws in mystery, romance, and, did I mention, another realm? Oh, and fun. Wish For Me is a story I certainly won't be forgetting any time soon.

Glory discovers a strange contraption in her recently deceased grandmother's basement and she slips it into her backpack. I wanted to see her wear that hat, by the way, since she had a cool, funky wear of dressing. She's refreshing, with her free-spirited ways and frequent f-bomb drops. Her friendship with Ash is realistic and made me think of my own college friends. When Glory uses her grandma's machine and a finds a hot man in her bedroom later that night, Wish For Me turned sexy and fun. Glory and this man, Irving, an outspoken djinn with a penchant for creating steampunk-ish things, banter about, getting on each other's nerves and under their skin. There are some very funny lines shared between these two and we know they will soon grow fond of each other.

The story line takes off in various directions as we learn all is not peaceful in the djinn land. I won't give anything away, but I will say Wish For Me is romantic, offbeat, and different. I haven't read many genie stories and Irving is certainly swoon worthy. Glory is a likable character, except when she's a tad bit annoying and that's what makes her real. There were a few spots which seemed out of the flow (why does she bring Irving to her college and why does he bring her there that night), but I enjoyed the various goings-on to stop and wonder. The cliffhanger ending and sudden revelation in Wish For Me certainly makes me want to reach for the next installment in this addictive series.
