She lets the protective walls she's built to protect herself crash down around her. As she begins to find love again with Tyler, secrets start to unravel themselves about his past. Tyler has secrets of his own. Secrets connected to the death of Bryn's father. Secrets Tyler didn't even know he kept.
About the Author
Alexandria Rhodes is a first time novelist from the good old state of Ohio. She is a recent college graduate with a degree in English and Creative Writing. Alexandria has always known she needed to write and has been doing so ever since she bought a typewriter at a garage sale when she was nine. With hundreds of pages of plot ideas, scripts and character descriptions, it is no surprise that she finally came around to writing a book.
Alexandria enjoys reading, writing, reviewing, spending time with family, tweeting (a little too much) and traveling, especially to Savannah, GA and New York City. Her writing is heavily influenced by her surroundings and the people in her life. She hopes that her stories will touch the hearts of her readers.
Loss. Love. Connection. Understanding. Re-connection. More Than You Know touches upon these themes prevalent in New Adult contemporary today and more. Bryn has lost her father in a tragic accident. She also loses her boyfriend Tyler shortly after that when he breaks her heart and leaves. Soon she says goodbye Savannah to attend college in New York City. For four years she doesn't date, doesn't dare to let anyone in. Afterwards, she returns home and begins her healing process by slowly letting those she cares about back into her life. Even Tyler, the guy she really loves. But he has a secret.
Back home Bryn reconnects with old friends and Tyler too. I thought she attached herself to him rather quickly, especially after what he did to her. For being so closed off, once she's home she seems to fluctuate between getting together with her friends or not. Her behavior did frustrate me at time, as did her acceptance of Tyler. Though it did take some time for me to get into her story, I found myself liking Bryn's journey. In parts, there was too much of the character telling me about things which impacted my reading. There were also touching moments and a few plot twists I discerned from their foreshadowing. The author's writing style was pleasant and emotional. More Than You Know is a good summer read.
