Blurb: Azaleigh's life is simple until, by chance, she meets Kale. Charming and handsome Az is immediately drawn to him. But long kept secrets lurk in the hearts of those Az holds most dear, and dangerous plans are unfolding around her. As her life begins to crumble and Kale disappears, Gage, charismatic and striking, arrives, providing a calm port in an increasingly violent storm. But with every narrow escape from a far from human bounty hunter after her life, Az begins to unravel a secret with the power to change her forever. In an increasingly hostile world of Angel and Fallen, Azaleigh must navigate her own path, chose her own side, and ultimately protect her heart. Faced with two gorgeous men, an enemy she doesn’t know, and a future she cannot understand, Az must make the choice: the man she loves, or the man she cannot live without.
Guest Post: The Chase!
One of the reasons we love Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasies is the chase! What we mean by this is… girl meets boy… falls in love with him… he is mysterious and unpredictable… she can’t understand him… he is hiding something… but yet she knows he loves her too.
You know what we mean! The chase is the greatest collaboration of a story. We all want what we can’t have, and if we do get it, we usually don’t want it any more or somehow find a flaw with it once it’s in our grasps. Human nature is to covet. Goodness knows this is how we feel. When Jacob just couldn’t have Bella, we all wanted to die with him… or least Team Jacob did. But if you look at the other side of the spectrum, the same thing happened with Edward. Bella wanted him and just couldn’t have him fully.
Guess what we are saying is that the chase is what keeps you going. In Flesh and Feathers, we wanted “chase.” And we do mean “chase.” We complicated emotions and feeling, until we didn’t know who we were rooting for ourselves. To explain… Azaleigh falls in love with Kale. Kale leaves. Gage comes in. This triangle was a circular of lust, love and obsession. As we wrote, we didn’t know if who we loved more, Kale or Gage. And we were happy about this. We want the readers to struggle as well. The chase is what kept us writing, and we hope it is what keeps you reading.
About the authors: Danielle Hylton-Outland was raised in Virginia. She grew up having a huge appetite for daydreaming; always wanting to live in the spectacular worlds she created in her mind. She now lives with her husband and dog where she is pursuing a degree in literature. Danielle is a strong animal activist. She is currently co-writing the second book in the Flesh Series, "Flesh and Flames".
April Fifer grew up in a small town in Virginia, where it was common practice believing that dreams could only be found in stories. At the age of seven she was diagnosed with dyslexia. She was told that she would struggle through life and would never pick up a book to read for pleasure. Although school was hard, she was able to find her way with the help of two teachers who taught her self-discovery. Ignoring what she was taught growing up, she turned it around and found that your dreams could become stories.

Congats on the release of Flesh and Feathers!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile when I read, "human nature is to covet." My husband and I will often jokingly say "I'm COVETING" when we're driving through a lovely beach neighborhood not far from our home, admiring the houses we would never be able to afford...LOL. We do covet what we think it unattainable.
