The House on Hundred Hill: The Nephilim Book One  by Jemima Valentino (adult title)

Blurb-Jessica Rylan has spent her entire life trying to fit in, despite feeling deep down that she doesn't quite belong. A slave to passions that she doesn't quite understand, she does her best to simply ignore her burgeoning sensuality. Little does Jessica realise that a seemingly chance encounter with the handsome Nate Black will turn her world upside down.

All it takes is one garden party invitation to pull her into an ancient struggle, one where she must place her trust in Nate and his mysterious brother Draven to survive. As Jessica becomes seduced by the ancient and mystical world of the Nephilim, she finally begins to understand her own dark desires. Because Draven Black is searching for something... Something only Jessica can provide.

Excerpt from The House on Hundred Hill:

The damp shingle under his old workman's boot crunched softly as he stubbed out a fourth cigarette on the gravel driveway. He watched the burning ember disintegrate under his foot; the soft glow of insignificant light crushed and extinguished. He drew a deep contented breath. Everything was in place. It had all been meticulously arranged, down to the finest detail. The decades of careful planning - or maybe it was centuries, he just couldnt tell anymore - but it was finally going to pay off.

Just one more week, and he would possess it. The longing obsession had consumed him since he had first set eyes on its wondrous beauty a little over ten years ago. Ten years of ravenous hunger, a mere stitch in time for one who had long since outlived the years measured by earthly mortality, but the wait had still felt painfully lengthy; and now, within a matter of days, it would finally be his.

Draven Black's human heart pounded with sheer anticipation, beating a slow, steady rhythm within his strong muscular chest. He raised a hand to the breast pocket of his leather jacket as if trying to still the pounding muscle through the soft yielding material. A thin satisfied smile spread from his lips and caused the lines around his tired eyes to crinkle. The expression offered his handsome unshaven face an older and more haggard appearance than that normally found amongst the Nephilim.

The dim sliver of silvery-white light from the full moon cast an eerie silence over the shadowed outline of the huge house. His black-eyed gaze flickered to the heavens and captured the moon in his sight. It had always been a fascination for him; those who didn't understand his immortal lineage would say it was an obsession, for Draven was a creature of the moon. He pondered how the most glorious rock in the skies could control the sheer expanse of the Earths oceans, maintaining its influence over the very existence of mankind, equal only to the sun - a worthy partner in astral dominance. His immortal father, Azrael, the original creation of the Gregori and the first Archangel of the end of mortality, had told him that the moon was formed from broken debris when a large asteroid had collided with the Earth at the very dawn of time. There is nothing else like it in the universe; a unique rock, symbolic of the population that it looks down upon, like a protective God watching over his creation from the heavens. Draven felt an affinity with the moon and with the gods to which his father had once belonged.

His eyes dropped from the skies and wandered over the glassy shine of the windows that were deeply set into the house. They were now completely enveloped in darkness, devoid of human life and laughter as the guests had slowly departed, one by one, and left him alone with his thoughts. It accelerated his loneliness and enhanced his rising frustration. He hadn't wanted them to go, yet he most definitely had not wanted them to stay. His restlessness was evident, even to them, the friends he had chosen because of the dark obscurity he sensed within their souls. Of all humankind, their indifference angered him the least and provided him with something that passed for company. Whether or not they realised they had a choice, they chose to harness their own internal darkness and were not afraid to step into the shadows of the night to satiate their hunger. They were brought together by the most powerful common denominator known to humankind - Lust. But soon his solitude would be just a distant fading memory. That is, if his brother didn't fail him again.

Draven rested a strong smooth hand on the bonnet on of his Jaguar. "Sorry old girl," he muttered as he patted the cool green metal of a car that he had loved for the last thirty years. To love something of manmade elements almost brought him comfort and reminded him of his own fleeting humanity. The perfectly polished bonnet seemed to weep under his touch, and he was sure it knew it was soon to be replaced. His sights were set on a new prize; a great indulgence that he begun to think was impossible to capture. It was so close he could taste it, but it wasnt ready yet.

She needed to be polished.
