Betrayed Blog Tour & Guest Post

Reader Girls are so happy to be participating in the Book Blog Tour for Betrayed, Book Two of The Guardian Legacy YA series written by Ednah Walters.

Blurb: Lil has come to terms with her life as a Guardian/demon hunter and the wielder of the Nephilim most powerful weapon. She trains everyday to master her growing powers, gets along with her Guardian trainee friends (most of the time) and cherishes her moments with her human friends.

Just when she feels she belongs, her nature-bender father contacts her and warns her about a betrayal by someone close to her. Then Bran, the guy she loves, starts to act strange and one of her human friends acquires a supernatural ability. While Lil struggles find a connection between these three things, she begins to realize that someone is manipulating her and Bran, and will stop at nothing (including hurting those she loves) to lure them to the dark side.

MEMORABLE SCENES by Ednah Walters
What is the most memorable scene you’ve ever read in a book or seen in a movie? Is it when star-crossed lovers say goodbye and there seems to be no hope of them ever being together again? When they reunite? Or is it something as simple as a hero rubbing the heroine’s feet? Bringing her flowers just because they reminded her of her smile?

All of the above are sweet and romantic moments. We see them in books we read and in movies we watch. They make us tear up. Yeah, I’m a crier at sappy moments, but what stays with me after I close the book or drive home from the theater, is when the hero steps outside his comfort zone to help the heroine or vice versa, when his is willing to give up everything for the heroine. Sometimes the whole book is about that choice, but we don’t usually find out until the hero confesses, giving us the most memorable moment. At times, it is just a scene in a chapter that makes all the others insignificant.

In AWAKENED, there’s the moment outside Coronis castle when Bran makes the choice that changes everything. Lil insists that he rescues his sister, which was the reason he sought the Guardians in the first place. But Bran chooses to go with Lil while she faces Coronis, Queen of the Demons, because keeping Lil safe, not rescuing his sister, has become his number one priority.

In BETRAYED, Bran risks death to save his soul so he can be with Lil. The entire book is about that choice even though she doesn’t know it until he confesses. The confession in this book is the most memorable moment. My beta readers cried after reading that chapter, a few reviewers e-mailed me and told me they did the same thing. After you read Betrayed, let me know how you feel or felt about it.

So what are some of the unforgettable moments you’ve read about?

When she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers. But Bran has a secret that can ruin their growing relationship, and the truth she discovers may destroy everything she believes in unless she finds the right balance between love and sacrifice.

About the author:

Writing about myself is not as easy as penning a saga about fictitious characters. Where to start? What to add? What to leave out? Don't want to bore you with stories of my childhood...when I walked, got potty-trained, talked...so I'll start with the more interesting stuff.

I started making up fairytale stories before I could write, even wrote a play which was performed by my class in high school, but I didn't complete my first story until I finished my PhD in chemistry and decided to be a stay-at-home mother. The first books I wrote were picture books about the adventures of a little lion called Little Leo and his pet Cockatoo. My kids got a kick out of hearing me read them out aloud. Then I moved to mid-grade chapter books. Their favorite was Goldilocks before the Three Bears. Then I tried my hand at contemporary romance and romantic suspense. That didn't go so well and besides, I couldn't read them to my children.

And the little munchkins grew and became teens and moody and impossible to please...digressing again. As teens. my babies wanted to read teen books. Vampires and werewolves were in. A professor of mine once told me that you can either be the first or the best at what you do. I wasn't too keen on jumping on the vampire/werewolf bandwagon, so being first was out. And I couldn't see myself being the best, self-taught writer that I am. So I decided to write something different--the fallen angels.

The idea for Awakened (originally named The Awakening) rose from the inner recesses of my mind after I came across the stories of kris/keris daggers. All I knew was that the weapon had to be at the center of my story. Soon the characters formed in my head and wouldn't leave me alone, especially an orphaned girl named Lil.

Finding a home for Awakened wasn't easy. Books about fallen angels by other authors hit the shelves while I was still trying to find an agent and an editor willing to take a chance on me.

Like most of my stories, Awakened is full of romance, mystery and adventure. I believe in the power of love, and that's why I spice up my stories with romance.

I live in picturesque valley in northern Utah with my husband, five children and two cats.
