DISCOVERING DELILAH is an #LGBT New Adult Romance
After the death of her parents on the day of her college graduation, Delilah Armstrong thought she could finally follow her heart and come out to her closest friends, but the guilt of going against her parents’ beliefs haunts her. The feelings she has for her best friend, Ashley, are stronger than anything she’s felt before, but Delilah has never even kissed a girl, and fear stops her at every turn.
Ashley Carver promised herself that she would never again date another girl who wasn’t out, but that was before she met intoxicatingly sweet and sexy Delilah.
When another girl offers to teach Delilah the ropes, it changes Delilah’s whole world and gives her the courage to go after the only girl she really wants. But coming out isn’t as easy as Delilah imagined, and moving past her parents’ death and the feelings of guilt she is left with is even harder. The intense passion between Ashley and Delilah is too strong to deny, but coming together means risking everything.
Discovering Delilah is an edgy, evocative, romantic story of friendship, family, and the courage to love.

I already liked Delilah in the first book of the Harborside Nights series, Melissa Foster's latest collection of heart-grabbing love stories. She's shy and quiet, but fierce when needed. Book one, Catching Cassidy, belonged to her twin brother Wyatt and his relationship with their best friend, Cassidy. I loved their story so I was thrilled to see that Delilah would have her own well-deserved and needed chance at her own happy ever after.
Discovering Delilah presses all of the right buttons. Foster knows how to tap into feelings and convey them across the pages. Delilah has been keeping her sexual orientation to herself, afraid to come out to her strict conservative parents. When she finally did tell them she was gay in book one, they didn't react well. Later that night they were killed in a car accident and poor Delilah has been dealing with that and so much more ever since.
Until she met Ashley. Delilah's true self comes through whenever she's around Ashley or even thinks of her. Her admiration for this woman, her feelings and pure love, and their tight connection, comes across in her words. Told from the perspectives of both women, readers are able to create a fully realized picture of these friends so in love with each other. All they have to do is connect.
I truly loved how Foster described Delilah and Ashley from their thoughts to descriptions and the group of friends they have in Harborside has become their new family. I like them all and can't wait to dive into their own love stories. As for Delilah, her journey to discovering who she really is as a person is so good. There are the typical bumps along the way and I understood her relationship with Janessa. Occasionally, I did tire of Delilah's thought stream, especially when it became repetitive, but then the author would offer some zinger to distract me and redeem her.
Discovering Delilah is an emotional and tender love story, as well as an exploration of the relationship between two young women who make the switch from friends to lovers. Melissa Foster has done it again and I anticipate loving the next book in this series, Tempting Tristan.
