Elizabeth J Kolodziej, a young fiction writer originally from Torrance California, is a smart and original thinker who has researched the origins of vampires, werewolves, and witches for many years. She writes her books from the knowledge she has gained while trying to be as original and inspiring as possible. Her books encompass both true folklore facts along with innovative ideas motivated by the great writers around her.
I'm always on the lookout for books with vampires, curious to see what new twist or creation an author can come up with. Elizabeth J Kolodziej's Vampyre Kisses is the kind of discovery I love to find. Faith is a normal, ordinary young woman with a boring job and a small apartment in New York City. She splurges on the things important to her like a comfortable bed. She meets a guy in a bar and begins to fall in love, but she has no idea this guy, Trent, is not what she thinks he is. Trent is a vampire and Faith's world will never be the same.

Vampyre Kisses is entertaining, intense at times, and enjoyable. Faith discovers a world of vampires, werewolves and witches. She herself has quite the past and she learns she is a witch, a very special one. Readers are told the story from the points-of-view of both Faith and Trent and at times, their pov's were repetitive which confused me and slowed the pace down. I grew to like both main characters and really thought Trent was a great guy. The author paints an intriguing otherworldly world filled with interesting creatures and there's even a cool cat. I would like to know more about the backstory of many of these beings and expect these details will be revealed in other installments. I liked the mythology and the inclusion of Circe as the goddess of the witches. Paranormal fans searching for a new YA story will want to read this first book in The Last Witch series.
