All She Wants for Christmas by Sara V. Olds
Contemporary holiday romance
Paperback/eBook, 350 pages
Published December 3rd 2013

George Clauson is Santa's daughter, but she can't stand Christmas. All that ho-ho-hoing, caroling and people's greedy wants? No, thank you. She's left the family business and struck off on her own in the human world finding her niche as a humble second-grade teacher.

Ebenezer Herod is a descendent of King Herod. His family has never stopped trying to destroy Christmas. This year they may actually get their wish, but not if Ben can help it.

George wants nothing to do with restoring balance to the Christmas season, and she certainly isn't interested in the shockingly handsome and devilishly rich Ben. A determined do-gooder, Ben's used to saving the day, but he can't rescue Christmas alone. Can George and Ben find a way to work together despite their opposing heritages to make the Season bright?

Excerpt:
George felt enough awake to stretch deep inside her covers. But not awake enough yet to open her eyes. She loved the way her handful of comforts and quilts weighed down on her as she pushed her toes and legs to their full limit. Luxury.

“Hmmm…” She reached over her head and stretched until her hands reached the simple brass frame at which time, the spell felt broken. George opened her eyes and drew in a long slow breath.

Last night flooded her mind, but not all the dreary details. Not the music, not the food, not the fancy clothes, not even the delight on the children’s faces. Just one moment. One breath-taking, heart stopping…she sat up straight. Surely, she hadn’t dreamed it? She checked across the room to see where her dress lay in a heap across the chair near the door.

She’d been too tired and dazed to do anything more than to slip it off, pull on her jammies and fall into her deep dreamless slumber. No, she hadn’t dreamed it. Well, that was a relief. She’d hate to think that she’d become desperate enough as to need to invent an evening like that. Forget the evening—to invent a guy like that.

She touched her lips. Now that she would never forget. Not today. Not even when she finally had bent with the decades, grown toothless and senile. A smile pushed up from deep inside her. She tried to squelch it, but her lips twisted anyway and with their broadening, a small giggle slipped out.

She took another breath. “Talk about a Merry Christmas!”

She glanced at the ceiling. “Okay, so I didn’t actually ask for that for Christmas, but you outdid yourself this time, Daddy.” For surely a moment that wonderful had to have had a little magic in it.
