Release Date: August 1st, 2013
Summary from Goodreads:
Jason Kincaid is young, hot and successful.
An All-Star outfielder for the Seattle Mariners, he finally had everything he ever wanted, including a second chance with his high school sweetheart, Megan Williams.
But their hopes for a ‘happily-ever-after’ are dashed by tragedy.
A horrific car accident wipes out most of Jason's memories. Unable to recall anything from the last fifteen years of his life, Jason is suddenly adrift, his once charmed life now in ruins.
Megan finds herself in the untenable position of having to deal with the fact that the man she’s helping to rebuild his life may look, and even act, like her beloved fiancé, but in reality, isn’t any longer.
Trying to protect herself, as well as Jason, Megan fights the attraction between them. . .to no avail. As their potent connection inevitably draws them closer, Megan wonders,
With the memories of their relationship gone, can love endure?
About the Author
Katie Lee has had a lifelong love affair with books. She fell in love with her first book in the second grade and hasn’t looked back since. She first took up writing as a hobby, wanting to craft her own magical adventures, and through the love and encouragement of family and friends, decided to get serious about writing and share her stories with the world.
She currently resides in Maryland in the United States. She works for the government during the day, and her spare time is devoted to writing. She gains inspiration from all sorts of things, but mostly from the fun and adventurous trips she takes when she can. She loves hearing from her readers so drop her a note!

Megan and Jason are one of those couples who simply belong together. Her brother-in-law Tyler tells her this in a discussion. But sometimes life can throw curve balls and what this couple is tossed has Megan wondering exactly how much their love can endure. After Jason is involved in a horrible car accident and loses fifteen years of his memories--high school, college, his professional baseball career with the Seattle Mariners, his marriage to Megan--all gone, Megan must decide what is best to help him recover, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness.
Told in both viewpoints, we see what each person goes through. Megan moves out, Jason returns to heal, alone. Even with missing memories, his personality shines through. Instead of visiting nurses, he wants Megan to stay and help. When they agree to have Tyler, his stepbrother, move in instead, Jason feels jealousy towards Tyler, thinking his sibling may have a past with Megan. It's little touches like this which provide evidence of the true man under the confusion and pain. Megan is stoic, moving out and keeping mum about their real relationship as Jason's doctor suggested. She is a selfless woman and does what is best for her husband, even while she suffers in silence.
What Endures is a moving story about the rigors of life and love. I couldn't imagine going through what this couple did. Even though he may not remember what Megan is to him, Jason does feel something for her. Watching the man she loves grapple with trying to remember the past so he can figure out his future is trying on Megan and I rooted for them to come together somehow. Both are likable characters and their dialogue is realistic. At times the story relies too heavily on the dialogue to tell us things I would have preferred shown through other conventions. Towards the end, the pace slowed down from Megan and Jason's heavy inner thoughts and I would have liked a touch more romance.
All in all, What Endures is a fast, satisfying read. The author tells the trying tale of what one couple's love must endure and doesn't neatly tie everything together. I enjoyed Megan and Jason's story and discovered a new author to keep out for.
