“SOUL CONTROL pulled me in from the first sentence and had me on the edge of my seat all the way to the end. Everything you could want is there…wit, banter, romance (appropriate for the young adult reader) danger, suspense, mystery…and the list goes on. C. Elizabeth’s writing is flawless and relatable. 5 stars all the way!”

About the author:
C. ELIZABETH
C. Elizabeth lives in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada and during her short writing career she’s learned a lot about herself, sometimes to the point that she wonders how the heck she got this far in life and know so little about herself.
For the majority of her life she dabbled in many things, such as drawing, photography, sewing, only to find that after a while, she would lose interest, but writing is a different story — it found her and continues to be an addiction, as well as a most wonderful, incredible passion.
Not only does she write novels, but she does whatever she can to hone her craft. Such as attending the New York Pitch Conference, seminars and the like, as well, she writes for online magazines on the topic of… you guessed it, writing.
Her latest book is the YA paranormal romance, Soul Control.
I still remember reading C. Elizabeth's adult romance, Absolute Obssession (review) and loving it. That's staying power--deep characters, an unforgettable love, an incredible all-around story. When I heard she was writing YA, I had to read her story. Once again, I was impressed.
Soul Control features the classic theme of good vs. evil and so much more. When triplets move into Saydi's small town, the boys raise heads. Hardly anything happens in their boring town until now. Nathaniel and his brothers become the talk of the town, particularly the girls, but we know looks can be deceiving and in this case they certainly are. Under their good looking exteriors, evil has come to town and Saydi, unknowingly, is involved.
My verdict after reading? Soul Control is an an enthralling read. What I really liked was how C. Elizabeth didn't paint the bad guys as purely evil, the stereotypical portrait. Both sides are realistic and have attributes of both good and bad. Saydi learns she isn't the regular high school girl she thought she was and watching her embrace who she is--an deep character with conflict and turbulent emotions--kept my eyes peeled in this novel. Nathaniel was another favorite character.
There are many paranormal stories around and the ones which stand-out in my mind are the stories which take the basic elements of these otherworldly beings and elevate them into something new with a different spin on things, inventive mythology, in-depth characters and raw emotions, all the while keeping everything real. C. Elizabeth has created another memorable tale and another page turner. I sincerely hope she receives the gathering and success she deserves.
