Let it Snow: Three Holiday Romances by Maureen Johnson,

John Green and Lauren Myracle

Paperback & e-book, 352 pages*Published October 2nd 2008 by Speak

Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks. Thanks to three of today’s bestselling teen authors—John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle—the magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.

The first story in Let It Snow is "Jubilee Express" by Maureen Johnson and it is my favorite of the trio. Johnson's writing is funny and I love the way she handles description and dialogue. Her character, Jubilee, will make you smile. John Green's "A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle" is reminiscent of the author's witty and zany style and I liked it. The final story is "Patron Saint of Pigs" by Lauren Myracle which grabbed me with Addie's dealing with breaking up with her boyfriend right before the holidays and then having to work her shift at Starbuck's. Each story connects to the next in a cool way and by the close everything as been nicely connected and wrapped together just like the pretty presents we find under our trees. These stories remind s romance is like life--not everything will go or be perfect but the journey and experiences show us things have a way of working out in the end. I deliberately did not go into details about any of these stories because that would spoil anyone's enjoyment who hasn't read this book.

  4. I read this book for the sleigh tour as well. I thought the same things you did. Loved Johnson's, and I liked the other two stories, but as a whole it was a solid awesome book.
