Dark Seraphine, Day 3: Kyle Talks About Surfing
Kyle Wilkinson Talks About Surfing
Tell us a little about yourself. Well, my name is Kyle Wilkinson. I turn 17 on Christmas Day. Pretty cool, huh? I’m the right-hand man to Caleb Wood who some of you will get to meet later on. I drive a Black Mustang and he drives a midnight blue Challenger. Let’s see, um, some other typical stuff. We have these killer gorgeous girlfriends. I would go into more detail, but I don’t want to give out too much of my K-9 secrets.
What are K-9 Secrets?
**smiles with a dimpled grin** Those are special, little pieces of advice I give out to my closest friends. Honestly, it’s mostly Caleb who always needs them. He always has girl troubles.
So you enjoy surfing. What was your surfing experience growing up?
I grew up in North Carolina, so surfing is still considered a strange hobby. My friends and I were just skateboard punks riding every ditch, ramp and vacant pool we could find. When I was about twelve, I came home with a twin-finned surfboard from a garage sale down the street and told my parents I was going to start surfing. I started to hang out with some of the surfer crowd. Since we live on an island, it was pretty easy to find a crowd. Next started doing local surfing competitions and the rest is history.
Your Favorite surf memory?
I get this question a lot. My most memorable surf trips have been those with my friends, sometimes surfing was the focus, other times we were just having fun, with a little surfing on the side.
How long been have you been shaping surf boards?
Aw man. Forever, it seems. I started by tearing up and reshaping boards into thrusters with Caleb’s Uncle Mashu. My mom was always ‘freaking’ out about the chemicals and mess. That was about 8 years ago. I actually shaped my first wake surfer a couple of years ago. But, if you decide to go surfing, then don’t do it in a spot where strange creatures that live in the water hang out. You might not make it out alive. **shudders**
Thanks so much for stopping by today Kyle. Your adventures in surfboarding have been, umm, interesting.
Kyle: And thanks to you for having me on your blog today. I’ll come back and talk about surfing anytime you like. You can check out some pictures of my boards here.

"Mom always says the angels walk among us. She forgot to tell me that sometimes they're not all fluffy and nice."
Seventeen-year-old Caleb Wood has seen people he calls the walkers since he was a baby. It didn't take long for him to realize something…no one can see these strangers but him. They never stuck around or tried to touch him. And they never said a word. That was until one day on the first day of class in his senior year when an incredibly gorgeous girl strolls into his life…and things are never the same again.
Soon Caleb realizes he has stepped into the middle of a growing conflict between two celestial races. And his ability to see the invisible ones, the half-breeds that want to modify the human race, just might be the only hope both he and the mysterious, but infuriating Gia have of making it out alive.
