Traitor Blog Tour: review and giveaway

We are thrilled, stoked, and extremely happy to have Megan Curd back on our blog today. This author's first YA novel, Bridger, was an instant favorite (our review) and now she's back with the second title, Traitor. The Traitor Blog Tour is presented by A Tale of Many Reviews Book Blog Tours.

Title:
Traitor
Series: Book #2 in the Bridger Series
Author: Megan Curd
Published: self (March 17, 2012)

Blurb: Ashlyn never believed in fairy tales until she was in one.

They say ignorance is bliss, but not when you're on a centuries old hit list...and there's a traitor in your midst.

Ashlyn must decide what's most important: trusting the allies she has, or siding with those she thought were enemies. Ashlyn knows old friends can turn on her, and unlikely allies may be the best chance she has to piece her family back together. No matter what her choice, she could lose someone she loves.

And when you don't know who to trust, believe one thing: You can never trust a faerie.

Review: When the temps hit the nineties and I want to hang out inside an air conditioned room, what better way to spend the time than with a book? Especially if the book is the second in the Bridger series by Megan Curd. Traitor is an entire amusement park of rides. The twists and turns, the surprises, the admissions, betrayals, love triangles (hello, Liam! oh boy, Reece:), friendships--is there anything missing from this paranormal YA? I don't think so.

I have my moments with Ashlynn when I wonder if she's selfish or not but then she does something or has something happen to her and afterwards I've changed my mind once again. She is strong and as fans of Bridger already know, impulsive, which is one trait I admire--it makes her unpredictable. I do love watching Ash mature and grow as she learns to handle her powers. Memaw is back, my favorite granny ninja faerie, and she had my eyebrows shooting upwards with those what the fairy heck? moments I find sprinkled throughout both Bridger books. I don't want to spoil any of the amazing moments so all I can say is fantasy fans, especially those who love the fey, need to get themselves a copy of Bridger and Traitor

And let me profess my love for the revamped covers here and now. I love them both! They both capture the true essence of this series and they're eerie and wonderful.

Ms. Curd has a way of creating exciting scenes, unique characters and intriguing worlds. Her intricate story lines remind me of some of my favorite role playing games. Her dialogue is so realistic and the way she can keep her story new and have readers breathlessly awaiting the next installment is a testament to her talent. Now where is the next book?
