LOVESTRUCK Giveaway Hop

Here is another great giveaway hop Reader Girls is participating in: the LOVESTRUCK GIVEAWAY HOP hosted by Under the Covers and Bona Fide Reflections. As our hostess from Under The Covers says, "Love-struck: (adjective) having a passionate or overwhelming feeling of love; smitten." Since we read MG, YA and Adult books we have split our giveaway into two age groups: YA and Adult. This blog hop runs from 12:01 AM June 15th through to 11:59 PM June 22th, 2012. For our YA giveaway I thought back to the first love story featuring a truly swoon-worthy male and the first name that jumped out was...Wes (sorry, Edward) from The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. Yes, the quiet guy, the artist, the one who plays the truth game with Macy. Good looking, funny, warm, he becomes the one Macy can always rely on to be there who accepts her for who she truly is. Wes came out of those pages like a quiet storm and wrapped himself around my heart. When Macy finally figures out how she feels about him I already knew how I felt about him--blown away. 

Here is the first scene where I realized just how smitten I was with Wes:

"I looked for Kristy again, but she was gone, nowhere I could see. Now I was feeling totally woozy as Hank/Frank leaned into my ear again, his voice saying something, but the music was loud, the beat pounding in my ears.

"Wait," I said, trying to pull back from him.

"Shhh, calm down," he said, moving his hands up my back. I yanked away from him, too hard, then stumbled backwards, losing my balance. I could feel myself falling fast, into the space behind me, even as I tried to right myself. And then, suddenly, there was someone there.
Someone who put his hands on my elbows, steadying me, pulling me back to my feet. The hands were cool on my hot skin, and I could just feel this presence behind me, solid, like a wall. Something to lean on, strong enough to hold me.

I turned my head. It was Wes.

"There you are," he said, as Hank/Frank looked on, annoyed. "You about ready to go?"

I nodded. I could feel his stomach against my back, and without even thinking about it I felt myself leaning back into him. His hands were still cupping my elbows, and even though I knew this was weird, that I'd never do it any other time, I just stayed where I was, pressed against him.

"Hey," Hank/Frank said to me, but Wes had already started through the crowd. There were so many people, so much to navigate, and as the distance fluctuated between us his hand kept slipping, down my arm to my wrist. And maybe he was going to let go as people pressed in on all sides, but all I could think was how when nothing made sense and hadn't for ages, you just have to grab onto anything you feel sure of. So as I felt his fingers loosening around my wrist, I just wrapped my own around them, tight, and held on."

Our Adult giveaway was harder to decide on. Let's face it, there are SO many hot, drool-inducing guys! Which one to choose? Hmm, I simply thought about the hottest, sexiest guys and immediately these authors popped into my mind: Sherrilyn Kenyon (Acheron anyone? all of those dark hunters, yum), Karen Marie Moning (Mac, Mac, Mac), J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood  (too many hotties to mention), and Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed warriors (see Brotherhood notation).

What is it about the supernatural guys? They're tall, gorgeous, mysterious, well built, super strong, may turn into a sexy vampire/werewolf/shape shifter/Greek god. Whatever they may become it is who they are and the fierce loyalty and love they have and show for their women which makes them swoon-alicious.
