Embrace Book Tour

We are hosting the Embrace tour today. Welcome! For our post we are running our review of this engaging paranormal YA novel.

Summary: Sometimes you end up hurting the ones you love.
You find you can't save them or yourself.

Madison is familiar enough with change, and she hates everything about it. Change took her long-term boyfriend away from her. It caused one of her friends to suddenly hate her. It’s responsible for the death of a local along with a host of other mysterious happenings. But when Madison meets a hot new guy, she thinks her luck is about to improve.

Madison is instantly drawn to the handsome and intriguing Isaac Addington. She quickly realizes he’s a guy harboring a secret, but she’s willing to risk the unknown to be with him.

Her world really spins out of control, however, when her best friend becomes delusional, seeing things that aren’t there and desperately trying to escape their evil. When the doctors can’t find the answers, Madison seeks her own.

Nothing can prepare her for what she is about to discover.

Our review: First off, I love it when a summary doesn't reveal much about what the story is about. I don't like it when I already know too much going into a story, just as I don't like seeing some movie trailers that show the best parts of a movie before I've even seen it. Author Cherie Coyler has written an engaging paranormal YA, part mystery, part coming-of-age and a whole lot of other things making this a fabulous read.

I don't want to reveal any spoilers but I will say the author made her main character, Madison, a normal teen with a developing attraction to the new guy, the mysterious Issac. It was nice to see Madison remark about her quick feelings for this guy she hardly knows (as I was thinking it), but she doesn't fight her feelings either. I've been in a similar situation and could really understand her point of view and her actions.

Embrace was a novel I certainly embraced and did not want to stop reading. Entertaining, realistic and filled with surprising twists, I highly recommend this title to fans of YA paranormal romance.

About the author:

A little about myself: I write young adult and middle grade novels. I love finding new stories that keep me up late reading. While my favorite genre is fantasy, if the book is beautifully written with characters that come alive I’m all over it.

My debut novel EMBRACE is now available from Omnific Publishing.

  3. I've been hearing great things about this story! Cover blurbs are so tricky, but I'm with you---I don't like it when too much is revealed up front.
