Teaser Tuesday (August 16, 2011)
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Miz B at ShouldBeReading where you randomly take two lines from your current read (spoiler-free please) and highlight them in a post. Sometimes it is hard to keep our teases within two lines, but this week we did.
Here are our teases:
The first is from Shades of Gray (A Jude Magdalyn Novel) by L.M. Pruitt:
Blurb: Jude Magdalyn Henries lives what many would call an unconventional life.
Orphaned at birth, raised by nuns, a teenage runaway living on the streets… she now earns a living at odd jobs, including one as a fake tarot card reader. Very little about Jude’s life appears normal, by any scale. When she accepts a gig to do a private reading, unconventional takes on an entirely new meaning.
Life as she knows it ends when she’s thrust into a world she never knew existed—one filled with magic, vampires, and her beloved New Orleans on the verge of an underground war. To make matters worse, she's got two men in her life vying for attention, Williams and Theo. Both call to a different part of her, but one scares her just a little bit. Can she step up to the challenges set before her and make the right choices for the greater, which may or not be the greater good?
Sarah's guilt pushes her into doing something unbelievable. Sarah's ex-boyfriend, Trevor, causes some trouble that will have lasting effects. Michael finds himself in the unusual position of saving a life instead of taking one.
Katie, the sister that Sarah wants to be protected at all costs, is in a new kind of danger.
Here are our teases:
The first is from Shades of Gray (A Jude Magdalyn Novel) by L.M. Pruitt:
"Hart laughed and it was the sort to make small children cry and flowers die. Well, maybe not, but it wasn't pleasant."I get such a kick out of Jude's snark and her ability to make me laugh so much.

Our second tease is from The Vampire's Curse (Book Two of The Undead in Brown County series) by S.J. Wright:
"You didn't have to make me love you. I already did."
Oh Alex, what a character you are and what an addictive series this has become.
Blurb: Still reeling from having witnessed the vampire battle on her property that left her friend Alex a vampire himself, Sarah Wood is surprised yet again. This time, it's by a familiar face from the past.
And our third is from Sweet Treats and Secret Crushes by Lisa Greenwald:
"I glanced at Georgia, who looked let down in a way I'd never seen her before except for the one time she messed up at her piano recital and had to start the piece over twice.
But now that I knew Georgia was in love with Kevin Park, I wanted to help her."Blurb: With a blizzard threatening their town, a trio of seventh-grade girls devises a charitable plan to make and distribute fortune cookies to all their lonely, stranded neighbors. What they hadn't anticipated was that each of the cookie fortunes would communicate a special message to its recipient. Sweet confections of friendship and love.
Want to share your tease with us today or just mention what you're reading?
