He’s tracking her down, and she can feel it. She knows the horrors he’s capable of, and if he finds out about Marcus, Hector will do everything in his power to destroy him.
If she stays, Marcus is doomed to Hector’s wrath. If she goes, the repercussions of their bond might kill Marcus. Both options will break Kendra’s heart. If they’re truly meant for each other, they’ll have to find another way....

She'll have to make a choice: stay and fight for the man she's always loved, or protect him by leaving and keeping Marcus off of Hector's radar?
The idea of fated love is one often explored in romance. Some characters are just meant for each other. Now, while I don’t personally believe in “love at first sight” I do understand the concept. Sometimes you do make an instant connection with someone. But, to call it “love” might be overstating things. Real love is never quick or easy. Sure, you could claim to fall in love at first sight, but that doesn’t mean you deserve it. If you want it, work for it! That’s more the underlying theme in Karma & Melodies.
Kendra and Marcus are fated to love, but that love will not flourish without hard work! If they aren’t willing to go through hell to be with one another and make hard choices, then they don’t deserve to have that love.
Call me mean or cruel, but I love to torture my characters and make them “work for it.” It’s the obstacles and roadblocks on the path to “Happily Ever After” that make the love worthwhile.
And I think many of you agree with me. If the Heroine and Hero fell madly in love and had nothing to cause conflict, then the story wouldn’t be interesting. You’d have about 10 pages of character description and lovey dovey dialogue and that’s it!
Where’s the fun in that?
With my characters, Kendra and Marcus, I wanted to give them some fun challenges. I have Kendra, a blood thirsty vampire who must live in the shadows while on the run from her master vampire, Hector. And then there is Marcus, and up and coming singer in a popular band. His life is in the open whereas hers is not. It’s more than just the simple difference of he’s a human, she’s a vampire. To make it even more fun, Marcus is in the middle of a cross-country tour with his band when the two are reunited. And the band is not all vamp friendly. With so much against them, making their relationship work will take more than just a few vows of undying love, it is going to take a whole lot more!

Lavada's take on 'Fated Love'- It is all too real but the reality is that it almost always starts out one sided. Those who realize the person they love is 'the one' is doomed to be tournamented at least for a time. Sometimes it works out to a grand reunion sometimes it ends up simply unrequited. Sigh but every time it makes a grand story.
