Teaser Tuesdays

This week we chose a tease from Knight Angels: Book of Revenge by Abra Ebner.

"I dug my nails into the now exposed meat of the evergreen tree, smelling sap as it bled across my fingers. The tree moaned softly, a moan only my ears could hear, and a moan I dreamed to hear from the girl called Jane.

She would die. She had to." Pages 119-120, ARC edition.

I know it's supposed to be two lines but those other two lines make this statement all the more compelling, don't they?

Book summary: New characters, New world, but old enemies. Emily struggles to ignore a new friend with emotions that temp her, Wes delves deeper into his past and family while finding friendship isn't reserved for the human race alone, Jane finds out her dear Max isn't what he seems, Gregs friendships cost him more than he expected, and Max forgets that the truth is best. But then again, someone always has to be the liar... Emotional baggage, begrudged enemies, and the bitterness that comes when the honeymoon of their friendship fades... Will the love survive, or as it all just a game?

    Oooh I love the sound of this teaser. I have this book on my TBR list as well :) Is it just me or does the cover girl look like Miley Cyrus?

My Review: Soulstice was the first book I finished for the new year.
