Waiting on Wednesday

My pick this week is Sherrilyn Kenyon's INFINITY: Chronicles of Nick (June 8th). I have devoured Kenyon's Dark-Hunter, Were-Hunter and Dream-Hunter series (I have the first three book of The League series on my shelf). I love how she tosses in mythology with her own take on supernatural beings. She has created her own world filled with complex characters and unique story lines. Coupled with great action scenes and a love story, her books are top notch and tons of fun. Next to Acheron (who had his own 600 page+ book), Nick has been one of my favorite characters. In June his story will be published and I can't wait to read it.

BOOK DESCRIPTION: At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. Until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one. A world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.

But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he’s next on the menu.
Like starting high school isn't hard enough. Now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended! How in the world is he supposed to do that?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cover. The colors, the pose of the model, everything creates such an intense mystery. Did I say how much I want to read this? Yeah, I definitely have it bad.

Waiting on Wednesday was started by breaking the spine.
